Sisters: curated by Annie Lennox
This year, in collaboration with global feminist NGO The Circle, the great Wilderness Stage will be taken over by the universally adored Annie Lennox and her, no doubt, impeccably talented friends for SISTERS: curated by Annie Lennox.
Founded by Annie Lennox and other leading women, The Circle is a global feminist organisation that supports women and girls confronting gender-based violence and economic injustic worldwide. Annie created the inaugural SISTERS concert at the Royal Albert Hall last March, engaging a whole new audience who passionately shared The Circle’s ambitions and raised vital funds for global initiatives. This glorious version of the show will also raise funds for The Circle via various festival donation campaigns and unite the Wilderness community in support of women’s rights. Prepare for a unique festival first.
In her tireless campaigns and championing of humanitarian causes - as recognised by Queen Elizabeth II - Lennox has worked with Oxfam, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, the British Red Cross, Comic Relief and Mothers2Mothers. As well as founding The Circle, she established The SING Campaign; an organisation dedicated to raising funds and awareness for women and children affected by HIV and AIDS. In 2011, she was very deservedly awarded an OBE.
Over the past 15 years, The Circle has supported over 1.4 million people directly on women’s rights and empowered more than 700,000 women and girls facing violence, discrimination and fear. Read more about The Circle here.
