Grace Sands
Grace is a veteran of the U.K.'s first deep house soundsystem - DiY Soundsystem. A group set up in Nottingham in the 80's before peaking during the free party heyday of the 90's. She began DJing as one half of Digs and Woosh and by ’91, they were key in helping define the deep house sound for which the collective became famous for. Described by Factory Records Tony Wilson as 'Culturally the most dangerous people in the UK', the collective were political, inclusive and purveyors of quality music who performed globally.
In 2003, Grace moved to London and continued developing her own DJ career as well as playing alongside Woosh, who sadly passed in 2020. Grace hosted her own DiY nights and became an Adonis resident, giving her the opportunity to wow the kweens, kings, thems, trans & all in-between with her ability to read a crowd and blend influences old and new. She has appeared online for Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab LDN and CRACK Magazine to name a few. Additionally, she regularly guests on radio shows such as NTS, Rinse and Foundation Fm and also writes, produces and runs her own record label, “Sands of Time”.
