Carl Cox
With over 30 years under his belt as one of the undisputed kings of dance music, Carl Cox has achieved both legendary and cult status. An iconic figure who has worked tirelessly and consistently to advocate for club culture, he has become a global ambassador and hugely influential figure who utilises his position to push the culture forward. Carl’s exhaustive list of achievements is incredibly impressive and dates back to the formative years of acid house in the UK. A stalwart and pioneer, he could easily have retired by now such is the breadth of his legacy. Yet, rather than ease back and live off his reputation, Carl is still at the forefront of the scene. Hard work and new challenges drive his creativity, pushing him to continue striving to contribute to electronic music culture in new and exciting ways.
And of course Carl’s name cannot be mentioned without Ibiza. His legendary Ibiza residency at Space came to an end in 2016, after an unbelievable 15 consecutive years. Since 2001 Carl helped establish Space as one of the biggest clubs in the world. Starting out with just 6 nights, his residency grew and adapted as the club did, so for Carl it was only right to end his residency as Space itself closed its doors. And what a way to go out. Carl’s final 15-week season was his biggest ever, with every single night selling out, heralded by fans and critics alike as a triumphant finale to a piece of dance history.
In 2024 Carl received the inaugural Outstanding Contribution award celebrating 30 years of the DJ Top 100 which Carl has been voted onto every year since public voting began. He also continues to be one of most in demand DJs in the world, equally at home in a small underground basement club as he is headlining a festival main stage or at his own stadium size events. After over 20 years delivering his Carl Cox & Friends stage at Ultra, he’s now as ambassador for the Resistance parties for Ultra worldwide, and his annual residencies at the likes of Brighton’s On The Beach and Burning Man have become legendary. Over the years Carl has also played some truly iconic shows at the likes of The House of Lords, Stonehenge, Cairo’s Pyramids, Central Park NY and the Berlin Love Parade where he played to a live audience of over 1 million people. He also famously went “back in time to perform” when he saw in the new millennium, January 1st 2000 in Sydney Australia before jumping on a plane to Hawaii, arriving on December 31st to play NYE ’99.
