Thought Club

Part debate, part blood sport, part chance to meet like-minded people: Thought Club is where you flex your cognitive skills. An intellectual bootcamp that ends with a public speaking tournament between teams who just met.

The topic?

Human labour creates the world we inhabit: from mining ore and laying railway tracks to educating children, nursing patients and building AI systems. So why don’t we own what we produce? And how does our conception of property shape our understanding of fairness?

Hosted by Thought Club founder Laurane Marchive and guest teacher Matthew Cole, author of Unpaid: The Past, Present, and Future of Wage Theft.

Expect a mini-lecture, a fierce debate and an adrenaline-fuelled presentation contest. Come solo or with your team. Come as you are, but come with your brain firmly screwed on!
